30th October 2014
This is something new that I am going to experiment with. Under this section I will be sharing my day to day experience in my college.
Since this is my first post so let me first tell a few things about me. I am Manas Sharma. I am currently a student of Physics Honors in Acharya Narendra Dev College of University of Delhi. I am in third Semester/Second Year. I also enrolled myself in the French Certificate Course at the beginning of the semester and I am really Enjoying it.
What’s up with me? Well most of the internal tests, exams, presentations, assignments and Vivas are over. It’s almost November and I have my Semester exams in less than a month. I have scored fairly well in my internals and am hoping to do good in the semester exams too. This last month was ‘something’. I had some presentation or test almost every day. It was really a test of one’s ‘Time Management’. I guess did good in that area. Then it was also the festive season here in India. It was Diwali 7 days back, and I got to visit my home. To be honest I go home to my parents almost every weekend. Our university only provided a two day break for the biggest festival of Hindus and dare I say India. But I took the whole week off as my attendance was already a 90.7% so I could afford to miss some classes. I figured I would catch up with the syllabus by studying in the Library.
Now lets talk about today. Well got up early as I had a Viva on Microprocessor 8085 and Digtal System. I am awesome at programming and got 94/100 in my 12th Grade Board Exams. So I am good at programming Microprocessor and did great in the Viva. Though there was a question or two that I couldn’t answer. Well to be frank it was tough. One could only know it if they had read it before. After the Viva I had a lot of time, since I am third at the rolls sheet, to complete my last experiment of that Lab, ‘The Monostable Multivibrator’ or as I like to call it, the ‘impossible one’. But today I finally got lucky and did the experiment completely and correctly. Thanks to my wonderful Professor Dr. Arijit Choudhary, who explained us the detailed theory of the experiment a day before enabling us to find our mistakes. Here are the images I took of the experiment:
After that I spent the day pretty usually. Studying and talking to my pals. I had to return Bck to my apartment early as I started feeling sick. Then took a nap in the afternoon. In the evening watched some TV shows on my Laptop. Its 9.30 p.m. now and I haven’t studied a word for my French Test scheduled tomorrow i.e. 31st October at 3.30 p.m. So I should probably end my todays post in ‘My College Diary’ and begin preparing for the test.

Ph.D. researcher at Friedrich-Schiller University Jena, Germany. I’m a physicist specializing in computational material science. I write efficient codes for simulating light-matter interactions at atomic scales. I like to develop Physics, DFT, and Machine Learning related apps and software from time to time. Can code in most of the popular languages. I like to share my knowledge in Physics and applications using this Blog and a YouTube channel.
